Reelfoot Lake
Price: USD $ 7,500TN, 38079 Featured: No This duck and goose pit is located in Northwest Tennesssee adjacent to the Long Point Unit of the Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge and is in a natural flyway between Long Point, Black Bayou Refuge, Reelfoot Lake and the Mississippi River. This area is located in the heart of the Mississippi Flyway and is known for it's great waterfowl hunting. The Long Point observation area is a short drive over the Kentucky state line and is a great place to view Canada Geese, Brants, Speckle Bellys, Blues, Snow Geese and any other species of geese migrating on the Mississippi Flyway. Ducks can also be seen here by the thousands at times throughout the year.
Black Bayou refuge is within sight of the property and has public roads and a waterfowl viewing platform. This refuge is covered up with ducks throughout the season and is a great place to view waterfowl as well as deer. The Airpark Inn is adjacent to the property and has rooms over the waters of Reelfoot. The Gray's camp area to south has several lodges and resorts and public boat ramps. The Gray's Camp area is a legendary gathering spot for duck hunters and a great spot to visit and see what conditions are like on the lake. This area has a very unique appeal with it's fish camp atmosphere, boat sheds, local ducks, duck hunting groups and some of the best views of the Upper Blue Basin portion of Reelfoot Lake. The pit itself is like a home away from home with professionally wired electric throughout and plenty of light fixtures for those dark early mornings. The shooting platform will easily hold 10 shooters. The interior of the pit is lined with wood but the pit is actually constructed of poured concrete. An intermediate deck is located to behind and below the shooting deck and has a bench. Behind that deck is a large room that is ideal for preparing meals, playing cards or taking a rest during a long day of hunting. Not many pits offer this level of comfort and would be great for entertaining clients, family and friends. Corporate clients would find this setup very suitable for company retreats. A two to three foot deep pond is next to the pit and the water level can be controlled via drainage pipes and a valve. Soybeans are planted around the pit and pond. The well is located on the opposite side of the pond and has electricity and breaker boxes within the same housing. An electric pump head would need to be located here. Piping is run throughout the pond and provides and effecient way to keep the pond open during freezing temperatures. This also serves the purpose of keeping the silt stirred up to give the appearance of activity on the pond. Electricity is run to the middle of the pond for use with spinning wing decoys and other electrically controlled hunting devices. This is a rare opportunity to get one of the finest pits on the Mississippi Flyway. These types of hunting grounds don't change hands often and would be a steal at the price listed. The owners are looking for a tenant that will be able to manage the pit themselves and not require much assistance.
